We empower young people through education, to reach their potential and transform their communities.

Our Theory of Change

Education Bridge aims to create flourishing South Sudanese communities through holistic education and conflict transformation. We achieve this by educating a generation of peacemakers and transformational leaders to address the perpetual cycle of poverty and  violence in South Sudan. We drive this change through a unique and holistic approach to secondary education that merges peacebuilding curriculum, leadership development and academic excellence, that is implemented through our schools - Greenbelt Academies; and through a primary school teacher training program that develops champion teachers.

We believe that if we…

cultivate peacebuilding skills such as managing disagreement without violence, asserting opinion with respect, listening attentively and with care, by implementing an effective Leadership and Conflict Transformation Curriculum; and  intentionally ensuring a diverse student body;

develop leadership skills and growth in empathy, emotional maturity, interpersonal skills, and a sense of social responsibility, by creating opportunities for students to participate in debates, student government, discussions that challenge own narrative and entrepreneurial projects;

emphasize academic excellence, by designing a rigorous curriculum, creating and enforcing high academic standards, ensuring effective teaching methodology, availing learning resources within our mean and creating a conducive learning environment for all our learners;

… then we will produce students equipped to drive positive change in their communities and contribute to lasting peace.

Our Programs

Our Impact

With 74% of South Sudan population below the age of 30 years, we know that there is a great opportunity for change by investing in young people. In just 7 years, we have seen:

1200+ students served

Across our two Greenbelt Academy campuses, we have been able to serve over 1,200 students from diverse ethnic communities across the country. Many of our graduates go on to take on leadership roles in their communities, teach in primary schools, and attend universities in South Sudan and beyond.

70+ young people employed

Since graduating our first class in 2021, we have seen over 70 of our graduates take on full-time employment in South Sudan. This is testament to their development as leaders, their care for the communities they come from and the quality education they have received. This is particularly significant in a context where youth unemployment rates are extremely high.

65 full scholarships every year

We believe high quality education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of socio-economic background. Every year, we enable over 65 vulnerable students to benefit from full scholarships. With each scholarship, we are able to help uplift the local community and the families we serve.
